Celebrate the Harvest in Bishop Hill

Bishop Hill State Historic Site will celebrate the Swedish fall festival Jordbruksdagarna (pronounced yord-brooks-DAH-ga-na) with food, music, dancing and games
Sept. 28 and 29
My first grand daughter, Deirdre, was born October 10, 2010. Last September she spent her first "Ag days" weekend toddling around Bishop Hill. I've lived in Bishop Hill for over a decade and this event has always been a personal favorite but seeing it through the eyes of this beloved child as she experienced such exciting sights, smells, and sounds for first time was absolutely sublime! I'm looking forward to having even more fun with Deirdre this year.
As in the past, there will be plenty activities for young and old - a little something for everyone. CLICK HERE for a detailed description of the weekend's events.
I, no doubt, will be making some corn husk dolls,
shelling some corn,

picking out just the right pumpkin,
looking for treasures in the hay,
and kicking my heels up with the pros!
 Join us this year!
